Bright Croche Octopuses!

Do you remember this?
Well, a friend of mine recently had twins and so I decided to try and do some crochet animals for them. This was the first time I was crocheting and I was exited if they would turn out nice, but in the end I was really happy with my two octopuses, though they were not exactly identical.
I found the octopus pattern here. But made them slightly bigger than it suggests.

4 Old New Chairs!

I got these 4 beautiful old chairs recently; very dusty, and so they needed a bit of scrubbing. I am happy that they will be waiting for me when I get back from London next year.
One of them even has my number on the back.

Berries and Cherries!

One of the perks of living where my aunt does, is that she is the direct neighbor of on old fruit farm that is not in use anymore. Each summer and fall the people who own it invite friends to come and have some of all the fruit and there is always something to pick. Usually in midsummer it is sweet cherries, where we eat until our stomachs are soar and this time it was sour cherries and blackberries.
The place is a bit like a jungle so we needed to wear proper boots and clothes, and for a hot August day it was slightly too warm.  But after a couple of hours we had gathered enough of both and could continue preparing for jam-making etc.
There is something about that kind of manual labor that is really soothing and relaxing for the soul.

Nettles everywhere.

Getting caught by a blackberry branch.

Bloody work of removing the stones, so we can make cherry sauce for Christmas

Soar blackberry arms.

Jam for all the friends and family

A House By The Sea!

At my aunts house there are many great things.
There are nice welcome greetings...
and a hyggelig atmosphere.
There is fresh homemade smoked cheese with a beautiful pattern.
And fresh fruit, berries and a bit of luck from the neighbours nearby.
There is time to read a great book...
either next to the wood fire oven...
or in the summer, outside on a floral sunbed.
There are lots of little great corners with ever changing details.
And an old furry friend who like to cuttle and sleep all day long.

Escaping The CIty!

At the end of last week I surrounded myself by the sea. I needed to get away for a bit to something more quiet and easy than buzzing cities. I went to visit my aunt at Funen. A place with no broadband, TV or other apparatuses that disconnect you from the place you are in.
It feels nice once in a while to fully relax from everything else and just take the day as it evolves, see what ideas you can come up with, take time to read and take an early night. I am glad I had the time to do this before returning to London.

Goodbye Berlin!

I left Berlin one week earlier than expected. It was a sad goodbye. I know I will be back there again but also that it will not be the same as before.
This is one of the last pictures I took there, and this is somehow how I like to remember Berlin; the beautiful houses and summer days, shadows and great colors. Great memories of love and laughter, late warm summer nights and amazing people. I will miss all the great people there and everything beautiful about this city until I will be there again sometime in the future.

Agora!

Agora is a artist space near the old watertower in Neukölln. They have residencies, co-working spaces, yoga sessions and also a newly opened restaurant. We went there last week for dinner and it is a great space with a really nice homey atmosphere and the food was so good that I would really recommend going there.

Tempelhof!

One of the nicest places in Berlin is the old airport Tempelhof. I sometimes go there to run, though this summer I have had trouble getting myself in gear. Otherwise I like to go there for walks, listen to the crickets, drive through on the way somewhere, visit the little gardens there, have picnic with friends and watching the sun go down behind the Berlin skyline.
I have so many nice summer memories from this place and hope I will have more to come in the future.
